Ask these questions before choosing a photographer:

Question 1 - What is your Style?

For your first question, the style of your photography is very important. Cody Sigouin Photography loves shooting photojournalists styles with hints of fashion and fine-art wedding techniques. When asking this question, its because you want to make sure the photography matches your interests, style and vision.

Question 2 -Will the photos be retouched or do you provide digital proofs?

Some photographers will polish all your photos, while others will show you untouched proofs and work their magic only on the images you order. At Cody Sigouin Photography, we believe that all the photos we take should be fully edited and reflect the style you are aiming for.

Question 3 - How many weddings have you shot, and have you shot ones similar to mine?

You only have one chance to get amazing wedding photos, so you'll want to hire someone who knows how to get those great shots know matter what the wedding is like.

Question 4 - Will a contract for you services be provided?

You should require a contract from your photographer that details what services they will be providing, pricing, termination resolution terms, etc. A contract is created for your protection, and for the wedding photographer’s protection.

Question 5 - Will there be a second shooter?

Second shooters are great for not just getting more shots but  to cover more ground and can give you two perspectives on major moments. We usually have our second photographers working on details and angles that we wouldn't have time for otherwise.

Question 6 - Have you ever shot at my venue before?

If your potential photographer has experience at the venue your wedding is at, that means they already have awareness  lighting or issues specific to that space. If they haven't ever worked in your venue, they should be willing to see the venue before the wedding day.

Question 7 - Will you follow a shot list?

If you have specific poses and looks in mind, a shot list is perfect for your photographer to keep in mind what you want.

Question 8 - What is the deposit and total fee?

Most wedding contracts will have the payment details, but if they don't, make sure to ask before you sign anything.

Question 9 - How many hours of coverage do we get? What is the charge for overtime?

Wedding coverage varies from photographer to photographer, if you have a set amount of time for your wedding (most weddings do), then its best to see if they have packages that form to how long your wedding is.

Question 10 - How long after the event will the everything be ready?

Each wedding photography studio varies in the time it takes to produce and deliver your pictures. Just know that good editing and album making takes time.
